Works by artist and maker Lucy Hook-Child.
Lucy grew up in rural Essex where many local traditions were rooted in folklore and still embedded in the culture of the villages. Nature and folklore have always been an inspiration to her artistic practice. Lucy studied art, photography and 3D design at Colchester School of Art and now creates her work in a variety of media including monotype and linocut printing, acrylic on canvas paintings, and objects made using found and recycled materials. She particularly enjoys creating works related to the Moon or trees, and often starts these pieces by going on long walks with her camera in hand. Her love of photography has also led to her creating photographic artwork for various album covers.
